To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, whether he has made representations to his Palestinian counterparts on the case of Amnesty International staff member, Laith Abu Zeyad; and if he will make a statement.

Whilst we have not raised the case of Laith Abu Zeyad, our Consul General in Jerusalem raised our concerns over the actions of the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces and police during the demonstration held in Ramallah on 13 June. He stressed the need for an investigation to understand what happened, to learn the lessons and to enable appropriate action to be taken.
