Domestic abuse is a life-shattering and absolutely abhorrent crime that nobody should have to suffer.

The Department does not hold information on the number of women’s refuges per capita in England over the last ten years.

However, this Department has commissioned Ipsos MORI to conduct an independent, external audit of local authority commissioning of domestic abuse services, including refuges.
