Department for Transport written question – answered on 13th June 2018.
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment he has made on whether Office of Rail Regulation guidance on work patterns is being followed in relation to driver work patterns under the new timetable on Southern routes; and if he will make a statement.
The Office of Rail and Road is the independent safety regulator of the rail industry. Employers in the rail industry must ensure that appropriate legislation is adhered to. It is not the responsibility of the Department for Transport to make this kind of assessment.
