To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, if he will publish the written defences presented by the Government in the cases of both the al Saadi family and Abdul Hakim Belhaj and Fatima Boudchar.

The Al Saadi case did not progress to the stage where the Government presented a written defence. The Government has no plans to publish its written defence for the Belhaj case. This case was subject to a declaration under Section 6 of the Justice and Security Act 2013 which permitted a Closed Material Procedure for reasons of national security.
