To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how much his Department spent on (a) chartered and (b) commercial flights to (i) remove and (ii) deport people from the UK in each of the last three years.

The table below shows the total costs of public expense removals in 2015/16 and 2016/17 which includes; charter flight costs, scheduled flights ticketing costs, ticket contract management costs and other administrative costs (including the costs of cancelled flights). These costs also cover the ticketing costs for overseas security escorts.
