To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, what employment rights are associated with (a) post-doctoral and (b) project research funding for researchers in the early stage of their careers.

Researchers have statutory employment rights as do any other UK employee, irrespective of their career stage. Any other contractual entitlements they may have would vary from employer to employer. PhD students are not necessarily employed by the institution where they are studying.
