To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many people in the Windrush generation have paid fees to secure (a) citizenship and (b) indefinite leave to remain.

Providing the information requested would require a manual check of individual records which could only be done at disproportionate cost.
Individuals should contact the Home Office, by telephone on 0800 678 1925 or by emailing commonwealthtaskforce@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk. The team will help the applicants to demonstrate that they are entitled to live in the UK and will aim to resolve cases within two weeks when the evidence has been provided.

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
