To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what estimate he has made of the number of occasions in the past 12 months when Network Rail has extended agreed timetables to close railway lines for engineering works without consulting (a) local authorities and (b) local Members of Parliament.

My Department has not made any estimate of the number of occasions when Network Rail (NR) has extended agreed timetables to close railway lines for engineering works without consulting Local Authorities or Local MPs.
