Department for Transport written question – answered on 26th March 2018.
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 16 March 2018 to Question 131899, and with reference to the Second Reading debate on the Pavement Parking (Protection of Vulnerable Pedestrians) Bill on 4 December 2015, when his Department plans to conclude the work to examine more closely the legal and financial implications of a new law on pavement parking.
The Department for Transport has been considering the scope for improving the Traffic Regulation Order process. However, the Department is now undertaking a broader piece of work to gather evidence on the issue of pavement parking including how it is addressed in current regulation. We expect to be able to draw conclusions later this year.
