To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what steps his Department is taking to support the development of a new ballistic missile defence radar demonstrator.

I refer the hon. Member to the answer given by my hon. Friend the then Minister for Defence Procurement (Harriett Baldwin) on 10 July 2017 to Question 06506. This notes that the ground-based ballistic missile defence radar referred to will not be a demonstrator, as it will provide a fully operational capability. The information gathered from interested parties is now being considered to establish options, according to standard UK defence procurement practices.
