To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what recent assessment his Department has made of the level of proven fraud or exaggeration in non-road traffic accident injury claims.

The Association of British Insurers’ most recent public assessment suggests that the level of detected insurance claims fraud (including road traffic accidents) was £1.3 billion in 2016. The Government is aware of fraud in package holiday sickness claims and is taking action to address it.
