To ask Her Majesty's Government what discussions they have had with the government of the Netherlands concerning (1) that government’s recognition of Daesh atrocities as genocide, and (2) the steps taken by that government towards a proposal for prosecuting Daesh fighters.

We regularly discuss all aspects of our work on Daesh Accountability with like-minded partners, including the Netherlands. We will continue to collaborate with partners, including the UN, on this issue.

This Government shares the House's condemnation of Daesh's crimes and is aware of the strength of feeling on this matter both nationally and internationally. This Government maintains that the attribution of genocide should be a matter for judicial bodies and not a political decision. The growing body of evidence that terrible crimes have been committed by Daesh is one reason why we continue to work to bring Daesh to justice.
