The Government follows the situation in Papua closely and regularly presses the Indonesian authorities to address legitimate concerns relating to human rights and restrictions on freedom of expression. We assess this to be the most effective method to raise our concerns. We are pleased that the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has been invited to visit Papua soon.
