To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, whether he plans to revise the Civil Service Management Code; and if he will take steps to strengthen references in that code to real or perceived conflicts of interest.

The Civil Service Management Code is kept under regular review. The Government is committed to amending the Code in relation to the business appointment rules as set out in its response to the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee report: ‘Managing Ministers and officials conflict of interest: time for clearer values, principles and action’.
