To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what estimate his Department has made of the number of housing units for rent or sale and designated as affordable housing which are planned to be built by Network Rail or its contractors by 2020; and what information his Department holds on the average cost of those units.

Network Rail itself does not build housing units for rent or sale, and nor does its contractors.
