To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, whether he has made recent representations to his counterpart in Lebanon on civilians being brought to trial in military courts; and if he will make a statement.

We have not raised this specific issue with the Lebanese Government. However, the UK monitors these courts closely and we regularly raise the issue of human rights with the Lebanese Government and security agencies. We encourage both to engage with any allegations of human rights violations in an open and transparent way.
