To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, whether he has made recent representations to his counterpart in Ethiopia on the potential reform of that country’s anti-terrorism laws; and if he will make a statement.

The British Government regularly raises with the Ethiopian Government the need for the opening up of political space in Ethiopia. Most recently, during the Fourth UK-Ethiopia Human Rights Dialogue in November, we made clear to the State Minister of Foreign Affairs our concerns around the implementation of Ethiopia's Anti-Terrorism Proclamation.
