To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they plan to publish a position paper on financial services and Brexit; and what steps they are taking to provide clarity on the implications of Brexit to the financial sector.

In any negotiation there are careful judgements about when and how to set things out in public and we will keep under review the best way of doing this.

The Government has been clear that it retains the ambition of ensuring the City of London remains a global financial centre.

We are continuing to engage extensively both with industry and with EU partners to hear their views and set out our arguments. The Prime Minister welcomed a number of senior representatives from the financial services sector to No.10 Downing Street in January 2018 to discuss the opportunities and challenges for the financial sector posed by Brexit.
