Department for Transport written question – answered on 31st January 2018.
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 8 January 2018 to Question 120619, if he will make an assessment of the effect of bike-share schemes on air quality.
The precise impacts of each bike share scheme vary according to location and other factors, making a specific assessment impossible. Cycling can deliver significant air quality and other benefits in general, however, and the Government’s Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy sets out the various ways in which the Government is supporting it.
