On 1 November 2017, the Government published a draft Bill, proposing a ban on letting agent fees for tenants. The draft Bill and explanatory notes can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/draft-tenants-fees-bill

The Communities and Local Government Select Committee are conducting an inquiry into the draft Bill. The Government will consider any recommendations of the Committee and then seek to introduce the Bill formally to Parliament as soon as Parliamentary time allows.
