To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, with reference to the transparency document entitled Department for Work and Pensions: Gender Pay Gap Report 2017, if he will set out the pay gap data for median, mean and bonus pay by (a) each specific grade and (b) profession.

In response to a) each specific grade

DWP published its Gender Pay Gap report showing an overall mean pay gap of 5.3%. As set out within the narrative of the report DWP is working hard towards reducing this pay gap further.

Across our more junior grades we are transforming our pay structures, moving towards a single rate of pay within each grade, which currently results in a mean gender pay gap of 0.4% across grades AA-HEO. This will reduce even further as we start to reach these spot rates by 2019.

The gender pay gap by grade is set out below. A ‘negative’ percentage represents a pay gap in favour of women.
