To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, how much Government funding has been allocated to the National Citizen Service in each of the last seven years; how that money was allocated; and what the objectives were for that spending.

Information about Government funding for NCS is available in the published accounts for Cabinet Office (2010/11 - 2015/16) and DCMS (2016/17), copies of which are available in the Libraries of the House. Government allocates NCS Trust an annual budget, based on projected participation rates, within the Spending Review financial settlement for that year. Each year NCS Trust is funded to deliver an agreed number of NCS participants, to deliver positive impacts for participants and to improve the overall value for money of the programme.
