To ask the Secretary of State for Education, for what reason the number of students enrolling on Early Years Initial Teacher Training courses is less than the target set by her Department; and if she will make a statement.

We fund the Early Years Initial Teacher Training programme, including bursaries and employer incentives, but it is a demand-led training programme and we do not set a target for recruitment.
