To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to his oral contribution of 27 November 2017, Official Report, column 4, what the value of the real terms increase in defence spending on defence equipment has been over the last five years.

In the five years from 2012-13 to 2016-17 spend on the equipment programme grew by an average of 3.5% per year in real terms.
