To ask Her Majesty's Government what representations they have made to the administration in Gaza concerning prospects for opening the Rafah crossing and allowing people with visas to leave.

We have not raised this issue with the administration in Gaza. The UK retains a policy of no contact with Hamas in its entirety. We encourage the Palestinian Authority (PA) to fully resume its government functions in Gaza, and ensure that the reconciliation process is compliant with the Quartet Principles. Officials from our Consulate-General in Jerusalem frequently urge the PA to take steps to improve conditions in Gaza. We have also raised the opening of the Rafah crossing with Egypt.
