To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, whether her Department provided any advice to local authorities on whether they would be able to bid to be the 2023 European City of Culture.

On 16 December 2016, the UK Government published on guidance for cities wishing to enter the competition, including a statement on the impact of the UK’s decision to leave the EU. Secretary of State

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
