To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the Answer of 3 November 2017 to Question 110561, on Joint Strike Fighter Aircraft, what the reasons are for initial commitments for integration of UK weapons on F-35 aircraft being funded through support funds instead of through initial procurement funds.

A number of UK weapons have been included within initial commitments and will be delivered as part of the F-35 capability standard at Initial Operating Capability. The support costs referred to in the answer to Question 110561 were associated with initial commitments to Follow On Modernisation which includes support elements to additional UK weapons integration.
