Foreign and Commonwealth Office written question – answered at on 1 November 2017.
To ask Her Majesty's Government what representations they have made to the government of Israel regarding restrictions placed on Palestinian families, including the welding shut of front doors of houses, in the occupied Old City of Hebron.
While we have not raised this specific issue with the Israeli authorities, we remain deeply concerned about restrictions on freedom of movement within the West Bank, including Hebron. The Minister for the Middle East and North Africa visited the Old City of Hebron in August and witnessed the restrictions faced by Palestinian families and the impact on their lives. Through our Embassy in Tel Aviv we have lobbied the appropriate authorities on the issue of movement and access.
