Department of Health written question – answered at on 23 October 2017.
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, to whom should data for all incidents of violence against healthcare workers be reported in order to facilitate the collection of statistics at a regional and national level.
Data on physical assaults against National Health Service staff continues to be collected through the annual NHS Staff Survey, with NHS organisations collecting their own data at a local level. The Government is also making legal changes to ensure those who are violent face the full force of the law.
