Foreign and Commonwealth Office written question – answered at on 20 October 2017.
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what assessment he has made of the effectiveness of implementation of the 2016 peace agreement in Colombia; and if he will make a statement.
Colombia has had an historic year. The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) has laid down its arms and the peace deal brought an end to the longest conflict in the western hemisphere. We recognise the challenges facing the implementation of the deal and the UK continues to work closely with Colombia to help ensure long-term, sustainable peace and prosperity.
