To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what estimate he has made of the level of ivory imports to and exports from the UK in each of the last five years.
Import and export permits for bringing ivory into and out of the UK are managed on behalf of Defra by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA).
The number of permits used for import in the last five years is shown below:
