To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what support his Department is providing to assist Overseas Territories for recycling.

UK Overseas Territory (OT) Governments are constitutionally responsible for the protection and conservation of their natural environments.

Defra is currently providing over £99,000 through Darwin Plus for the development and implementation of a sustainable waste management strategy for Ascension Island, supported by the Waste and Resources Action Programme. We have also committed over £190,000 to increasing paper and cardboard recycling in St Helena.
