To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many people were removed from the UK as a result of representations made by their spouse in 2016.

The data required to answer the question can only be provided at disproportionate cost.

However, the Home Office publish the number of returns by type, in tables rt_01 and rt_01q of the quarterly Immigration Statistics release. The latest statistics are available at the following link:
