To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, what assessment her Department has made of the potential geographical spread of the training referred to on page 9 of part two of her Department's Digital Strategy 2017 to be offered through the Barefoot Computing Project; and of what that training will consist.
Barefoot offers free teaching-resources and volunteer-led training workshops, designed to help primary school teachers get more confident when teaching computer science and computing skills. Barefoot is UK wide, and more than 1 million primary school children have benefitted from this training so far, and a further 500,000 will be reached by the end of the 2017/18 academic year.
