To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what his Department's policy is on the administration of medication without supervision by health care assistants.
The administration of medication by healthcare assistants and the supervision thereof are a matter for local National Health Service determination, within the strictures of Care Quality Commission regulation and subject to the duties of registered professionals within each healthcare assistant’s team to ensure safe delegation.
