Home Office written question – answered at on 7 July 2016.
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what assessment her Department has made of the effect of the outcome of the EU referendum on the Government's role in (a) tackling the refugee crisis in Europe and (b) Operation Sophia in the Mediterranean.
The Government remains committed to its leading role in working with the international community to tackle the migration crisis. The UK remains a member of the EU until negotiations are concluded and nothing changes overnight as a result of the referendum. We will maintain our contribution to Operation Sophia.
