The rate of pay for security guards working in buildings managed by the Department for Education is between £7.85 and £13.50 depending on location, shift pattern, skillset and duration of tenure.

The Government Equality Office is based within buildings managed by the Department for Education, and therefore the same rates apply.

From 1 April 2016, the rates will be increased to reflect the 2016 Living Wage Foundation rates.
