To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how many girls under the age of 16 have been prescribed the contraceptive pill or contraceptive implants in each of the last 10 years.

It should be noted that in 2014/15 the methodology used to determine the choice of contact was revised and the data is not directly comparable to previous years. This does not include women who are prescribed contraceptives from other sources such as general practitioners and hospital doctors, as data are not available by age from these services.
