Department of Health written question – answered at on 5 January 2016.
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, pursuant to the Answer of 10 December 2015 to Question 19044, which (a) voluntary sector organisations and (b) local areas Public Health England is working with to make sure there is effective distribution of the Help is at Hand publication.
Public Health England (PHE) has been working through the Suicide Bereavement Support Partnership, which includes voluntary organisations that provide support for people bereaved or affected by suicide to support effective distribution of ‘Help is at Hand’.
Our guidance for developing a local suicide prevention action plan encourages local authorities to ensure that ‘Help is at Hand’ is distributed to friends, family, first responders and the local community. Each of our local PHE Centres is aware of this guidance and available to support.
