Foreign and Commonwealth Office written question – answered on 24th September 2015.
To ask Her Majesty’s Government what contact, if any, Ministers and diplomats have had with the Dawabsha family following the death of three members of that family in an arson attack in Duma village in July.
Our Consul-General in Jerusalem visited the village of Duma on 4 August to express our condolences to the relatives of the Dawabsha family and the local community. On 31 July, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my hon. Friend the Member for Bournemouth East (Mr Ellwood), issued a press statement strongly condemning the attack. We have called on the Israeli authorities to ensure that those responsible for this crime are brought swiftly to justice.
