To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how much her Department spent on carbon offsetting in each of the last three years; and to which companies payments in respect of carbon offsetting were made in each such year.

The Department has spent the following on carbon offsetting in the last three years:

2012-13

2013-14

2014-15

Note 1: Includes back payment for an earlier year undercharged.

The Department purchases Certified Emissions Reduction (CER) credits through regular e-auctions run by Crown Commercial Service.
