To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, whether his Department has made a forecast of the number of employment and support allowance claimants that his Department will classify as unfit to work in each of the next five years.
The forecast for number of new employment and support allowance claimants the Department will classify as unfit to work in each of the next five years are included in the table below:
2015/16 | 2016/17 | 2017/18 | 2018/19 | 2019/20 | |
New Claimants Unfit For Work Total | 350,000 | 450,000 | 300,000 | 300,000 | 300,000 |
This is consistent with the Office for Budget Responsibility Budget 2015 forecast.
