To ask Her Majesty’s Government what sanctions are in place against Burma.
The EU currently has sanctions in place on Burma. These measures include an arms embargo prohibiting the sale, supply, transfer or export of equipment which might be used for internal repression, whether or not originating in the Union, to any natural or legal person, entity or body in, or for use in Burma. The embargo also prohibits the provision of financing and technical assistance related to military activities, arms and related material, and equipment which might be used for internal repression. The EU recently renewed these measures until 30 April 2016. Countries outside the EU may have their own sanctions measures in place on Burma.
