As set out in the Queen’s Speech, the Government is committed to bringing forward legislation in this session to give effect to the Stormont House Agreement in Northern Ireland. The Northern Ireland (Stormont House Agreement) Bill will make provision for an independent Historical Investigations Unit, an Oral History Archive, and the Independent Commission on Information Retrieval – a new body to be established by an international agreement between the UK Government and Irish Government.

The Bill will be introduced as soon as the Parliamentary timetable allows.
