Northern Ireland Office written question – answered on 3rd July 2015.
To ask Her Majesty’s Government what assessment they have made of the implementation by the Republic of Ireland of the human rights section of the Belfast Agreement.
The UK and Irish Governments meet regularly both at ministerial and official level to discuss issues of mutual interest and concerns including matters relating to the implementation of the Belfast Agreement in each jurisdiction. There is no formal mechanism in the Belfast Agreement for monitoring the progress of either government other than the British Irish Intergovernmental Conference.
