To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, what assessment she has made of the effectiveness of the role of the British-Irish Council.

The British Irish Council provides a unique opportunity for the eight member administrations to work together on matters of mutual interest.

At our recent meeting in Dublin we had productive discussion on the improving economic picture across the UK and Ireland, and agreed further collaborative action on tackling alcohol misuse.
