To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what steps his Department takes to ensure that genetic disorders are not passed on to babies through IVF treatment.
The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 1990, as amended, and the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority’s code of practice provide a number of safeguards to ensure that, as far as possible, genetic disorders are not passed on to babies through IVF treatment.
