HM Treasury written question – answered on 11th June 2015.
To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what assessment he has made of the potential effect of allocating an additional £8 billion to the NHS by 2020 on funding available for other departments.
As a result of this Government’s long-term economic plan, the NHS budget increased in real terms over the last Parliament. In this Parliament, the Government will secure the future of the NHS in England by investing in the NHS’s own five-year plan. Decisions on future departmental savings will be taken at the Spending Review later this year.
