Department of Health written question – answered at on 3 June 2015.
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how his Department will meet the cost of making the NHS a full seven day a week service.
The Department is working with NHS England to ensure that seven day services will be implemented in a way that is affordable and focussed both on improving efficiency and delivering clear benefits to patients. The costs will depend on a number of factors, which will be subject to further work as detailed implementation plans are developed. The exact health budget for future years will be determined by the Spending Review.
