To ask Her Majesty’s Government, further to the Written Answer by Baroness Kramer on 24 February (HL4951), whether, before delivery of the Intercity Express Programme, the operators will be able to specify the interior layouts to optimise their appeal to the passenger market.

Train operators have already helped to specify the interior of the new Inter City Express trains. The Department for Transport, Hitachi and Agility Trains continue to work very closely with them.
